Carp and fishing reels
Starting from the basics - the reel is one of the most important parts of the fishing equipment. The possibilities offered by a properly selected reel are invaluable. Therefore, purchasing a reel is often a challenge - especially for beginner anglers. In that case, it makes sense to rely on the opinions of others and consider the key elements. The first issue is the type of rod and technique we intend to use. And here we can distinguish several types, e.g. fly reels, rear drag reels, carp reels and some others. They differ in design and purpose, all to provide the user with maximum comfort and fun during the hours spent by the water.
Choosing a reel is really not easy. Those who have years of experience and knowledge behind them - including the book knowledge - are in a better position. However, they too may encounter difficulties due to the increasingly richer offer of producers. Spinning reels differ from those intended for carp fishing, but these reels are different from those we will use when fishing in the sea. Which reel to choose?
The simplest answer is: you need to choose equipment that is compatible with the technique used. We should also remember that there are reels with a fixed or a movable spool to choose from. The reels with a movable spool are characterized by their perpendicular arrangement to the rod. The main advantages of such a mechanism are a strong structure. They are used for bottom, fly, sea and float fishing. Fixed spool reels are arranged parallel to the rod and their use is diverse. They are successfully used in both float and sea fishing.
Another element to consider is whether you have a front (upper) or rear (lower) brake. The front brake ensures easy adjustment and precision. The bottom brake is easy to adjust when hauling a fish, which is perfect for catching large specimens.
