Live bait is an extremely popular form of bait, often chosen by anglers. This type of bait usually includes various types of worms, such as: red and white worms, both earthworms and other worms. Also popular are: snails, flies and insects, leeches and pearl barley. As we can see, their selection is really wide and this is not all the specialties that white fish like. Another reason why live bait is so popular is that it can be used in a variety of techniques, including ground and ice fishing. Their advantage over balls, corn or other lures is their durability and the fact that they are in constant motion, which perfectly attracts fish circling around them. In addition, they are relatively cheap, and some of them - as in the case of earthworms or pearl barbs, are only a matter of a few movements with a shovel in your home garden. If, on the other hand, we decide to buy worms from a fishing store or a robotic machine, we also do not run the risk of high costs - the purchase of the entire package is usually a few zlotys. Fishing with live, natural bait is popular especially in spring and autumn, it is in these periods of the year that we have the best chance of success when fishing with worms. The effectiveness of such lures is best demonstrated by all kinds of artificial lures, modeled on the shape of flies, worms or frogs, not to mention the whole range of artificial fish. This is the best argument in the discussion on the effectiveness of live animals.
How to catch worms?
If we have already decided to practice fishing with natural bait, remember that choosing it does not guarantee success. On fish, as always, luck decides to some extent, but when it comes to worms or flies, a lot depends on us, and exactly what we do to make our lure always fresh and attractive. And this is a basic condition for it to attract fish! Therefore, you should not place stale, half-dead or completely dead worms on your hook.
